Kate Samuels grew up in New York and moved to Los Angeles to attend the University of Southern California. In Fall 2010, she traveled to Florence with Syracuse University for a study abroad semester. In May 2011, she graduated from USC with a Bachelor of Architecture.
As the daugther of two architects, her passion with architecture started when she began traveling to Europe and Asia. Architecture has always been an important base for Kate and she is inspired by the constant change in design around the world. A new passion of her's is urban design and studying cities around the world. She recently finished her thesis titled "Spinal Core", which researched the infrastructure and programatic changes that can be implemented in the suburban setting.
In addition to being awarded multiple internships from professors, Kate has been published in IDWRK, the USC architecture magazine, and in Means//Fishbowl, a USC student publication. Recently, Kate was chosen as one of the ten best thesis projects in her year to be exhibited at the school of architecture.
Her passions include sailing, graphic design, painting and photography.
